not me! monday

happy not me! monday y'all.


after our mountain of halloween candy that was purchased last year (that we gave most away and didn't even eat), we did NOT go to 3 different targets looking for cheap clearance candy this past week. and even though we didn't really find any candy to buy, ben and i did NOT find costumes for each other for 75% off. so if you saw that couple in target with the desert dancer and french maid outfit in their cart it was NOT us.

ahem.

moving on...


i took ryan to a thrift store the other day and did NOT find the complete game of "lucky ducks" for him. as ry held it while we looked around the store, the game did NOT turn on while inside the box. there was NOT loud quacking coming from our cart. and when i opened the box to turn it off, i couldn't figure out how to turn it off. so i did NOT close the box, continue to walk around the store with a loudly quacking game, pay for it, and walk out to the car and stick it in the trunk. ryan did NOT show me how to turn it off later...


while sitting in the drive-thru yesterday, i did NOT roll down my window and attempt to dump water out of an old taco bell cup. however i did NOT stop to think about the fact that the wind was blowing in right at me. you see where this is going, don't you?! ...i did NOT toss the water out the window only to have some of it come back in on me. ben did NOT have a good laugh.


i am NOT on pins and needles today waiting to hear updates on stellan. please pray for him and mckmama (founder of not me! monday) as they face a very risky surgery today. get all of mckmama's twitter updates here, or visit mckmama.com.

orange for stellan

as you all know, i'm away from home right now visiting my parents. and you should also know about stellan by now, who is at this moment having surgery. so when i read yesterday that people were wearing orange for stellan today, i was bummed. my orange shirt is at home. i have absolutely NOTHING orange to wear.

not me! monday

time for not me! monday again. if you haven't been keeping up with stellan and the whole mckfamily, they are on week 3 of being in the PICU for his SVT. so instead of hopping over to mckmama's blog to read other not me! monday posts, please go visit her blog and lift little stellan in your prayers.

this week i have definitely NOT still been glued to my computer checking mckmama's blog and twitter for updates on stellan. and i have NOT been constantly reminded by samantha to pray for stellan.

and after looking at all the pictures in stellan's name gallery one day, i did NOT accidentally call ryan "stellan."

after moving tons of ebay stuff to our new storage unit (YEA!) we did NOT vacuum our living room for the first time in about 2 months (not kidding people). and ben has NOT vacuumed every day since then because he got a new vacuum. and you know how boys like to try out something new...

and when my inlaws came over yesterday, ben did NOT try to totally sell them on the new vacuum by pretty much doing an infomercial. and then when he asked them if they'd like to try it out, i did NOT get my living room vacuumed again.

i did NOT find samantha in the fridge with her head upside down drinking directly from the spigot on our water jug/container/thingy.

we did NOT avoid a $50 maintenance fee when we had stuff too close to the furnace in our utility room. and we did NOT avoid said fee because the maintenance man that came over to change our furnace filter was NOT an old friend of ben's from school. when he opened the door to the utility room ben did not say, "oh! don't look in here for a minute," and then did NOT move everything very quickly!

not me! monday ~ stellan style

it's not me! monday with a spin... this week not me! monday has been moved to the cline's blog and is in honor of stellan and the whole mckfamily. 5-month-old stellan has been in the PICU for over a week now and desperately needs a miracle. visit mckmama's blog to read updates about stellan, and please pray!


like so many other fellow bloggers, stellan has NOT been on my mind all week. visit the cline's blog to see who else has NOT been obsessed with stellan this week.

i have NOT been glued to the computer every day waiting for updates and blog posts. the refresh button on my browser does NOT hate me!

i did NOT decide to check mckmama's blog and twitter at 2am after ryan briefly woke up.

i did NOT freak out on wednesday when he went into v-tach. i did NOT slam my laptop shut and say "samantha we have to pray NOW!" after briefly telling her what was happening with stellan she did NOT start praying before i could start. and her prayer was NOT super lengthy for a 5-year-old. she did NOT pray to Jesus to "please let stellan live because he is so special to us." she did NOT make me cry.

i was NOT asked if mckmama was a friend of mine when i lived in minnesota, since i talk about them like i know them. nope... never met her, although she is my sister!

after praying for dinner the other night samantha did not ask her daddy "aren't you gonna pray for stellan?" ben did NOT reply with "who's stellan?" uh oh... you have a lot to learn, ben!

thankful thursday

continual learning. that's what i'm thankful for today. or maybe i should say continual teaching, because there's plenty of days when i don't want to learn anything!

God has been teaching me some things this week and i'm actually learning from them! so many times we think we have it all figured out, and then God steps in and says "hey! let me show you this!"

one example from this week is on the topic of prayer. pastor bob had a great message on prayer this past sunday and at the close of his sermon he had everyone think of one thing weighing on their heart, write it on a piece of paper, and give it to God.

i didn't have any HUGE problems on my heart, but there was this one little thing that has been making me mad, upset, and angry for the past few months. i just figured i didn't have the right attitude about it, but i still hadn't ever prayed about it. well i wrote it down, talked with God about it, and wouldn't you know, monday afternoon it had already started to resolve itself. or, should i say, God had started to resolve it. call me stupid for not praying about it months and months ago, but at least i was smart enough to learn a God lesson this week!

and since we're on the topic of prayer, please keep baby stellan and his family in your prayers. he has been in the hospital with tachycardia since sunday night and definitely needs all the prayer he can get! (read this post from monday morning to start at the beginning.)
