not me! monday

welcome to not me! monday! this blog carnival was created by mckmama. you can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

first of all, i have NOT been MIA. i have NOT neglected my blog for a day shy of two weeks. and i do NOT have perfectly good reasons. you know i love my bloggy/online family, but my real family comes FIRST! so let me be the first to apologize if my blogging is sporadic for the next few months.

and now for the embarrassment. you know how you're a better driver when there's people riding in the car with you, right? well, apparently that doesn't make a difference for me. a week and a half ago, my sis-in-law, my beautiful niece (hi ricci! i love you!), ryan, and i went to sonic for ice cream. i pulled into the drive-in diner, ordered our ice cream, we ate, and then we were gonna leave. but i didn't want to drive with my empty ice cream bowl. so i spotted a nearby trash can (about 8 feet away), and when my sister volunteered to get out of the car and throw it away i did NOT say, "no, i'll just drive over there." so i pulled out of my parking space, and drove up close to the trash can so that i could throw my bowl out the window, and BAM!!! i did NOT hit the trash can. said can did NOT start to tip over. we all did NOT start laughing. i quickly backed up, the trash can stopped rocking, i tried again (this time staying far away from it), threw the trash out the window (thank goodness it went in the can!), and then i drove off, blaming my mishap on all the ice in the parking lot...

at our next stop i got out but couldn't see any damage underneath the filth of my car. so i have NOT refrained from washing the car just so that ben won't see any scratches!

well you know you have good neighbors when they'd pick up your trash for you. i do NOT know this firsthand... as i was taking the trash out the other night (at midnight) i saw my neighbors just getting home—a mom and her high school senior daughter that we'll call breanna. we started talking, so i walked over to them on my way to the dumpster. and right when i got over to their car, one of my trash bags did NOT rip open at the bottom, and trash did NOT spew everywhere!!! oh just wait for it—it gets better...

it was the bathroom trash.

i don't know about you, but in my opinion, bathroom trash is the most embarrassing. spew junk mail and food scraps any day, but bathroom trash?! diapers, snotty kleenexes, q-tips, etc...

i did NOT scurry and start putting the trash in my other bag (which conveniently had enough room), and then breanna did NOT bend down to help me. i did NOT almost yell at her and say "NOOOO.... this is bathroom trash. please, you don't need to help!!" she did NOT help me anyway. i was NOT incredibly thankful when i thought of the other stuff that could have been in there had it been a different time of the month...!

ahhhh.... happy monday! tune in next week. maybe i'll air my dirty laundry—literally!

Oh, Erin! I need you to design a diagram of this morning's parking lot snafu. I think it would really help me illustrate the story of how, really, I'm NOT a bad driver! Honest! Okay, fine. Maybe I am... :)
